I offer Counselling consultations and Reiki treatments from my calm and relaxing rooms in a quiet village in Worcestershire.
I am also happy to offer consultations and treatments online via Skype, FaceTime, Zoom, etc.
Counselling Consultations
Each session lasts one hour. Sessions run at your pace and there are no rules about how many or how often you must see me.
We can cover any issues you'd like to talk about and, using a wide variety of tools including some creative ones, help you to get to the core feeling/s contributing to whatever emotional difficulties you're currently experiencing.
I am empathetic and will listen to you without judgement, creating a safe, calm, accepting and respectful environment where you feel heard, supported and so able to share your feelings. We'll progress at a pace you're happy with and gently work to explore ways for you to feel better.
I offer an initial free half hour consultation to give you the opportunity to ask any questions and ensure you feel comfortable with me as your therapist.
The number of sessions you may feel you need varies, but you do not need to commit yourself to a set number at the outset. You will know after two or three sessions whether this style of counselling is for you and whether you feel comfortable with me as your counsellor. You can end therapy at any time.
I am able to offer both daytime and evening appointments on week days.
Reiki Treatments
The method of receiving a Reiki treatment is simple:
you remain fully clothed and lie on a couch or sit on a chair and relax. I gently place my hands non-intrusively, on or near your body. There is no massage or manipulation. It is also possible to receive Reiki at a distance.
A treatment usually takes around one hour and includes a consultation before and after the session. Please allow an hour and a half for your first visit so that we can make sure I know what you want to achieve with the treatment and we can complete some paperwork.
A Reiki treatment is often felt to be deeply relaxing, leaving you with a calm, peaceful sense of well being on all levels. People can experience different things while receiving Reiki, from a flowing sensation, tingles, warmth or coolness, visions of vibrant colours and images or nothing at all.
After a Reiki treatment
Reiki will be at its most powerful for 72 hours following your treatment, though effects may last up to a week. Immediately following your treatment you may feel tired or very relaxed. After a Reiki session it is advisable to go home and relax. This ensures maximum benefit from the treatment.
As Reiki helps your body’s natural healing process, you need to drink plenty of water following your treatment. You may feel that you only need a light meal with fruit & vegetables rather than overloading.
Please follow these simple steps:
• Drink plenty of water
• Avoid caffeine or alcohol
• Maintain a healthy diet
In addition to feelings of relaxation and being uplifted, occasionally some people may experience the following after a session:
• Short-term increase in symptoms
• Needing to sleep or rest
• Headache
• Feeling emotional
• Increased urination
• Temporary ‘flu’-like symptoms
